Ice Cream
The ice cream is made on the farm by us using the milk from our own herd of Jersey cows. Still using the recipe we were given over 30 years ago we are now producing over 100 flavours throughout the seasons.
The cows are milked once a day to get the best milk possible. This is taken to the Ice Cream room located by the tearoom where it is mixed and frozen into the various flavours. We then stock the tearoom where your ice cream has travelled a whopping 100 yards from cow to spoon for you to take home or to buy in a cone.
The icecream is made in a batch pasteuriser which is then aged overnight in a maturation tank. This is where the flavour is added- we tap off the required amount and get creative!! The Ice Cream machine we use is a gel mark continuous freezer who we call Dave for short and the ripple is injected into the nozzle as it fills the tub and we call this machine little Dave.
The majority of flavours we use come from a Flavour house in Italy but to do the specials we combine some ourselves to get our own unique flavours. We are open to ideas for new flavours but please bear in that we are a no nut ice cream so people who have a nut allergy can still enjoy our icecream.
Trade customers are welcome – we also do napolis and 4 Ltr sizes and provide a minimum quantity delivery service or customers can collect from us directly. We can also make bespoke flavours for our customers although there is a minimum run. Full allergen data sheet available upon request.
